Nampa building applications run through Building Safety, not this website

If you might renovate a Nampa house, whether the work needs a permit is a city question. Nampa is in Canyon County, not Ada County, and it publishes its own Building Safety path. This page points at the official process. It does not decide that your project is exempt, and it does not pull a permit for you.

Where Nampa publishes the process

The City of Nampa Building Safety & Code page is the department home. That page states that permits are required before new construction, additions, alterations, or repair of existing buildings, and for plumbing, electrical, or mechanical work. Read the city’s own words; this site will not decide that your job is exempt.

The Building Permit Process page walks through application, intake, plan review, issuance, and inspections. Online Permits describes Citizen Self Service for applying and paying. That is Nampa’s system, not Meridian’s citizen portal and not Ada County’s process.

Canyon County parcel history is a different office. Year-built on the Assessor page does not replace a Nampa building application.

Why this still matters if you later sell as-is

Unpermitted work — including work on older in-town houses — can matter to a later buyer, an insurer, or an inspector. That is a reason to ask Building Safety or a licensed professional — not a reason for this website to declare a violation.

If you are comparing paths, put “permit unknown” on the scope inventory until the city or a qualified person answers.
